"I was living in the Salvation Army homeless shelter for 30 days, & thanks to the library letting me use the computers and written resources, I was able to get my life back on track."

"I love passing by the library and seeing a full parking lot over and over again. That is good. Very good."

"It was like winning the lottery when I opened your email. I am most appreciative of your research. My grandfather has come into much clearer focus because of you."

"I am from Atlanta, and though we have many beautiful libraries, yours puts ours in the shade. Laid out well, roomy, and courteous personnel: Great mix!"

Play a part in our mission to improve the educational, literary, and entertainment opportunities in the Shoals area by supporting the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library.

The library is not only a building of books; it’s a cultural center that strives to meet the needs of every demographic in our community.

With a collection that includes large print books, audiobooks, movies (including new releases), and local history and genealogy materials, and with programs such as family storytime nights, job search workshops, book signings, and computer classes, the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library has something for everyone.

We are constantly working to improve our collection and services, with a specific eye toward meeting needs that are currently unmet in our community. But we need your help.

The library offers several ways to donate. Explore the links in the "Ways to Donate" menu below to find out how, or check the items in the "Support FLPL" menu to find other ways you can help the library in our mission to preserve the past and ensure the future.
