Services - Library cards
|
In
order to borrow books and other items from the Florence-Lauderdale
Public Library, you must have a valid library card issued
by our library.
If
you live, work, attend school or college, or own property
in Lauderdale or Colbert County, you may receive a library
card free of charge. If you do not meet the above criteria
you may receive an Out-of-Region Borrower's card at a
charge of $10.00 for one year.
To
obtain a library card, come to the Circulation Desk on
the first floor of the library and fill out an application.
Present a valid photo ID (driver's license, non-driver's
ID, student ID, employee ID, passport, etc.) as proof
of identity. If you are under sixteen years of age you
must be accompanied by an adult who is willing to be responsible
for your card.
Library
cards are issued at the time of application. You may check
out three items at the time you receive your card. When
you have returned those items, you will be subject to
no check-out limits other than those imposed on any other
borrower.
In
signing for a library card, you will be accepting responsibility
for any items checked out on that card. If your card is
lost or stolen, report it to the library staff immediately.
You may replace your lost card at a charge of $2.00. Homebound
and Educational Accounts may be set up at the discretion
of the Circulation Supervisor.
All
library patron information is confidential in accordance
with the Code of Alabama 41-8-10.
