The Reference Department of the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library answers questions and helps patrons in their search for information and knowledge. The primary aim of the Reference staff is to provide the best information and resource materials available to meet the needs of the community it serves.

Materials
Our collection of non-fiction and reference materials reflects our commitment to our community’s interests and ever-changing needs.

The Reference Department, which includes the Adult Non-Fiction area, provides patrons access to a number of local, regional, and nationally published newspapers as well as an extensive collection of popular periodicals specifically selected to meet the tastes, interests and needs of the community of which we serve.

Computers and Databases
The department is also home to public computers for adult patrons 16 years of age and older and special Research Stations for scholarly work and research. Access to a wide variety of research databases may be obtained by free registration at the Reference desk.
