About the Florence-Lauderdale Public Library Digital Archive
The Florence-Lauderdale Public Library is committed to preserving the rich and unique history of our local area through the digitization and documentation of original, identifiable images from our past and the digital recording of oral histories from residents past and present who have a story to tell.
The Digital Archive includes photographs, documents, recordings, and various other historical items from the Library's collection alongside items provided by public and private sources who have agreed to make their materials available on this site.
This archive has been made possible by contributions from the FLPL Friends of the Library as well as federal funding granted by the Alabama Public Library Service (APLS) under the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
This archive is dedicated to the memory of Terrye Sledge Terry, whose passion for local history inspired its creation.
