Library Services - Computer Classes

FLPL is now offering free computer classes throughout the year! Below is a list of upcoming class topics and times. If you are interested in signing up for any of these classes, call Abby Couch at (256)764-6564, ext. 27. Seating is limited.

 

Intermediate Computer Class Workshops: For those Who Have Mastered the Basic Stuff!

Classes are offered at these times during the week, so you can choose the time that best fits your schedule:
Tuesdays 5-7, Wednesdays 10-12, & Thursdays 1-3


Microsoft Powerpoint: October 5-9
Learn the art of creating powerpoint presentations for both work and school. Gain an understanding of the audio-visual options you have and how to utilize them most effectively.

Microsoft Excel: October 12-16
Advance your knowledge of spreadsheets, their functions, and graphs. Learn the purpose for creating such a document and in what capacity it may become helpful in the organization of textual lists or numerical data, for example.

Genealogical Research Online: October 19-23
Enhance your genealogical expertise by accessing online websites and databases for furthering your research. Whether or not you are a master of the print resources, your eyes will be opened to a world of information through the advent of the Internet.

Using the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL): October 26-30
Familiarize yourself with some of the best online databases for accessing educational, research information as well as for answering your own, curious inquiries. This resource provides a wealth of current, reliable articles, magazines, and topics for accommodating all users.
